She follows through with every detail from sending music to making sure that prompt downbeats are met in rehearsals and performances. Jane has a superb working relationship with great instrumentalists throughout the tri-state area. Because I know Jane can provide a great brass group, string group or full orchestra, I am able to make musical decisions without a worry if the parts will be covered. Jane Shelly is one of the most positive people I have ever worked with. She was promoted to the Executive Director position with the Norwalk Symphony after serving as their Director of Education and Operations for two years. Jane has excellent communication skills and is great with working with people. She is a person that can take a task from inception to completion without needing supervision. During her years with the Norwalk Symphony she proved that she could handle many diverse tasks at the same time and she was not daunted by the challenges of the job. Jane Shelly is also a superb musician. She has been Associate Principal Flute of the Norwalk Symphony for 25 years. She has been very involved in our educational programs, both in the planning and in the implementation, and she remains an active private flute teacher in the Norwalk region.
